Train from Girona to Barcelona?

Hola! I'm trying to make reservations for the train from Girona to Barcelona this August, but the RENFE website tells me there are not trains on that route. That can't be right, can it? Any suggestions on how and/or where I should go to make a reservation?

Thanks so much in advance!

It is too soon to make those reservations for August, or even to see the schedule. Take a look at a date in June to see a typical schedule. There are frequent trains and it is a short trip, but buying your tickets 2 months in advance should get you a nice discount.

Lola, thank you very much. I suspected I was just too early, but the RENFE site said there were no trains available, rather than "you're way too early, bucko." I really appreciate the help.

Denise, you don't need to pre-book. It's highly unlikely you won't find a seat given there are plenty of trains every day - both, high speed trains as well as normal ones, for the later you don't pre-book anyway, tickets are to be bought at the station. And no, I'm afraid there are no discounts in this line since it's a short hop.

Enric, thanks so much. That's great to know. BTW - I love reading the gems of advice you've given people on other Barcelona topics. You are so generous and helpful!

My pleasure... being a Barcelonian I'm proud of my city and I love to share ;))

BTW, for political reasons, in Catalonia, the long distance trains are handled directly by RENFE, headquartered in Madrid, and their schedules are offered thru www.renfe.com but the short distance and regional trains are coordinated by the Catalan government and the schedules are offered thru http://rodalies.gencat.cat/en/index.html Note that the RENFE website still also has a section for these but it's not well maintained and often the information is not correct.
