Train from Barcelona to Madrid

I have heard that Iryo trains from Barcelona to Madrid are more comfortable and less subject to strikes. I will have time to kill prior to departure and I see that the Iryo lounge at Sants is quite basic. I had read that they had an arrangement with NOBU hotels to use lounge space but no mention is made of this on the Iryo site. Any opinions? Thanks

Why do you need a lounge? This is train travel, you do not need to be at the station hours before your train leaves.

If you have time to kill before departure a better use for your time is to take an earlier train.

A lounge would be helpful because I am coming off a cruise ship and going directly to the station. So as not to miss the train, I will go a bit early. I have used the Amtrak lounge in New York awaiting for ACELA trains. It makes the trip a lot more pleasant. I thought the same might be possible in Barcelona.
