Train from Barcelona to Cannes

Trying to find out the best way to travel by train to Cannes in late July? Having trouble trying to figure this out. Keep getting directed to plane or bus or even car. Thought train would be nice. I welcome any thoughts and advice.
Thanks,
K

Try searching using the French rail site
https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/train-ticket

If you don't get a result for a date in July the tickets may not be for sale yet.

It will take around 8 hours by train something like :
Barcelona to Nimes (France)
Change trains
Nimes to Marseille
Change trains
Marseille to Cannes

I would fly direct to Nice from Barcelona in 1 hour 20 minutes and then take a train from Nice St Augustine (the station near the airport) to Cannes. That takes about about an hour.

If the rumours are correct, the direct trains between Barcelona and Marseille should be back in late July, which would make it an easy trip by train with one change.

It will still be 8 hours or more even if the Barcelona-Marseille train is restored.

Thank you. It seems expensive at estimated 585 Euros one way for 3 persons. Are there savings by buying a pass of some sort?

585 seems high, but perhaps cheap fares have already sold out for late July. There are no good discount cards for one way journeys like this one, unless you are 60+ (in which case "Carte Avantage Senior" could work out if valid on trains from Barcelona, which I'm not 100% sure about).

As for what I would do... I would fly. There are some nice stretches on the train route but not enough of them to warrant the full 8-hour journey, in my opinion.
