Train companies in Europe

Hello

Wanted to ask what is the preferred train company in Spain. We need to get from Seville to Cordoba and have seen prices from 200 to 500. Strange that they could be so different.

Please advise

As usual THANK YOU

Renfe is the main company in Spain. Travel dates will make a difference but those prices seem very high. The Renfe site is quirky. As I write this, it doesn’t seem to be working.

Edited: the Renfe site is showing prices between 14€ and 54€ depending on Train, time, and type ticket. No idea which site you were looking at or what currency those prices were in, but I wouldn’t use it.

You might be able to see train schedules and legitimate ticket prices at www.TheTrainline.com or www.Omio.com both of which are reputable and can sell Renfe train tickets. As said above, Renfe is the national train company of Spain, and it has a website that goes wonky more than it should. Even the authority on train systems, “The Man in Seat 61” says when this happens go ahead and buy your tickets online through TheTrainline.com. They charge a service fee of 2-5% which is already included in the displayed ticket prices. Renfe has high-speed AVE trains running from Seville to Cordoba in 42 minutes and onward to Madrid. Buying tix for these trains the day before, or day of your trip can be expensive, but for tomorrow there are some tix available on some AVE trains for $14. There also are trains from Seville to Cordoba called MD or Medium Distance trains that don’t use the high-speed tracks AVE trains use and take 80 minutes to reach Cordoba from Seville.
