train/bus service from Madrid to Toledo to Granada

We are traveling to Spain in middle September, 2019, and we want to go to Toledo after spending time in Madrid. We will spend two days in Toledo, and then the next town will be Granada. Is there a bus/train from Toledo to Granada or will we have to train back to Madrid to get transportation to Granada. Thank you for any help.

There is an ALSA Bus that goes from Toledo to Granada (without back tracking to Madrid), which takes about 5:30 hr, you will have to double check if it runs during the day you are planning on traveling on the ALSA website: https://www.alsa.es/

Nan,
Have you considered spending an overnight in Córdoba on your way to Granada? The reason I ask it’s because Córdoba is a beautiful city, and by doing this you’ll break up the long trek from Madrid to Granada.

Make sure you book your Alhambra tickets 3 months in advance.

Have a wonderful trip!

Hola,
I don't know how many days you have, but Cordoba is a lovely place. It has the mesquita for which you should book in advance, a nice river walk, absolutely stunning photo op from Roman bridge, and tight medieval streets.

Have you ruled out driving? It's only about 350km and you could do it mostly on motorways, taking not much than 3 hours or so. But, better, there are a number of stops on or near the route to break the journey such as Consuegra, windmills (you pass through Don Quixote country), and nearer Granada there are Baeza & Ubeda. If you do hire a car, I'd drop it when you reach Granada since driving in the city itself is a right pain.
