Tour Guide for Prado and Reina Sofia

I would like to take a guided tour with a real person (not audio) at the Prado and Reina Sofia museums but I don't see that option on their websites. They have tours for designated groups (like school kids) of 8 or more but I would just like to sign up my family of four to join a bigger group with a real person to take us through the museums. Is there another way to do this?

Thank you.

If you want to play things by ear, there are semi-professional buskers at both locations who may approach you unbidden, or semi-bidden, when they hear you speaking English. The Prado, especially, has some veterans who have worked out some kind of arrangement with the museum, and stand around by the bag security check.

If you want an academic tour, try Context Travel. They may be able to adjust their material to match your group, but they are pricey, so if you don't want a lot of erudition they will be overkill. (Personally, I will adjust my schedule to take advantage of their 'walking seminars' -- it's like an MFA class session with the real pieces instead of slides!)

We were at the Prado a few weeks ago and were approached by staff for an English tour that we didn't take. So I do think it's available.
