Toulouse to Barcelona in light of possible rail strike

I have to be in Barcelona for start of tour on May 24th. Flying into Toulouse on the 22d. Was planning to stay overnight and train to Barcelona on the 23d. However, they are threatening strike that day. Should I try to get into Spain on the 22d? It would probably have to be by bus. I get into Toulouse around 4:30 pm. I've been looking at flights to Toulouse but going to Madrid seems the only reasonably-priced option. Has anyone dealt with the strikes in France.

Looking at www.skyscanner.com, I see that flights on May 23 require transferring on separate airlines, without the protection of single ticket. On May 24, the direct Vueling flight at 1:30 p.m. doesn't get you in early for your tour start, but it probably gets you there in time and can be booked now for $46.

Use rome2rio for travel options.

My one experience with french rail strikes echoes what RS has said ... trains do run. Just irregularity so you just get on the first one heading in the right direction.

Or just take the bus.
