How expensive are the toll roads in southern Andalucia! We are renting a car in Granada, driving to Estepona (and later to Tarifa). Then, we will drop the car off in Sevilla. THANKS for your kind advice!
I don’t recall any tolls being overly expensive, but I haven’t driven that toll stretch between Malaga and Estepona. My guess is a few Euros at most. I know the portion between Jerez de la Frontera and Sevilla wasn’t much at all, and you can avoid it if you don’t mind taking a little longer to arrive in Sevilla.
Hi from Wisconsin,
I think there is only one stretch of toll road. In our month in Andalucia wenever ran into it.
The roads are in great shape.

I drove from near Marbella to Gibraltar and avoided the toll road. It was slow. It seemed like there was a traffic light or a small roundabout every kilometer or two and truck traffic (in February). On the way back I took the toll road and it was worth every cent. If you use viamichelin.com it will give you the cost of tolls.
When are you travelling? A few motorway tolls are being scrapped at the end of this year, including I think the Andalucia section of the AP7 and the AP4 to Sevilla (the toll for some of the route from Tarifa). But if you're travelling before that then I think the toll to Estepona from Malaga would be around €13 at the "special" (peak) rate. You can always avoid a toll motorway by taking another (usually parallel) non- tolled route, though lots do that so they can be very busy and slow.
