How long should the walking tour of Toledo as described in Steve Ricks Madrid and Toledo guide book take? 4-6 hours?

If you want to go inside any place (which I recommend) you would want a minimum of a full day. I would try to arrive by 9 and plan to stay until 5. If you are taking the train, I would buy the tickets the day before. That train can sell out.
Toledo is a wonderfully atmospheric town.
ADDING that we were there two nights and could have stayed another.

Toledo's medieval center is quite large, and it's hilly. I, too, spent multiple days there.
