Toledo- can you help?

We would love to visit Toledo but aren’t sure how to best do this. We have a rental car and a wheelchair and need help with finding a hotel that will allow us to park (we know will need to pay extra for parking) and the get unto the main part town relatively easily. Can anyone recommend a hotel that will meet our needs? We know we have to deal with some hills, but are hoping to avoid the steepest ones. Thanks!

I am not familiar with parking but it looks like (google maps) there are parking lots in or near the center. Consider parking at the train station. Then it will be easy to get a taxi to your hotel.

Becky,
When do you plan to stay in Toledo?

I just called the hotel where my mom and I stayed, Hotel Santa Isabel, and spoke with Angel who explained that there’s a parking lot where you can leave your car for €12/night but he cannot guarantee that there will be space for your car when you arrive. He also told me that there’s a free parking near the train station. It’s an open parking lot but it may not be secure as it’s not monitored by police or security guards.

If you don’t need the rental car anymore, your best bet is to return it and take the train to Toledo, then a taxi to/ from the hotel. The taxi will leave you at the door of the hotel.

If you want to reserve a room you need to do it now because this is Semana Santa ( Holy Week) and most hotels are fully booked! Hotel Santa Isabel +34- 925-25-31-20.

Hope this helps.

Edited to add...
This hotel has a ramp at the entrance and it also has an elevator 😉

Thank you Chiani and Priscilla. We will be keeping the car because we need to return it to the Madrid airport when we fly out on Friday early am.

We stay at hotel Maria Cristina when we go to Toledo. It’s about a 10 minutes walk from the main entrance to the old/historic part of town. It has its own, an ample parking garage, beneath it. Much wider than most I’ve used in Spain. It also has rooms on the ground floor, so it should be pretty accessible for the wheelchair. The breakfast buffet is also on the ground floor. To historic center exit the hotel, turn right, and walk straight. The hill going into the historic center is fairly steep, so getting a cab may be easier. The hotel staff is very friendly and would make a recommendation on getting to the center.

I also stayed at Hotel Santa Isabel. Very comforatble, but perhaps something closer to Plaza de Zocodover would be flatter and more convenient.

Look at Hotel Pintor El Greco: underground parking lot, don't remember if there's an elevator.
