Toledo and Salamanca Hotels

Have Ricks book but was wondering which ones to stay at.
Traveling end of September Friday to Midweek from Alicante 2 nights Toledo and 3 nights in Salamanca.
Santa Isabel looks nice in Toledo but rooms with views are limited. With the terrace is a room with view
necessary?
Would love hotels with terraces if possible.
Also am wondering any preference of which city to do first?
Am also surprised Sept is high season in Toledo vs June.
Could go in June instead. Is September crowded in Toledo.
Thanks!

We stayed at Hotel Puente Romano in Salamanca, and can recommend it highly. It is just outside the walls of the historic city. Super clean, great location, friendly staff, and terrific breakfast.

That depends on you. I did just fine with my non-view, un-terraced room there, and going up to the roof for my views (views from their roof are great). But if you want a terrace and a view, you may not be satisfied without these.

I did like the Santa Isabel, and it's a great value.

Rosalyn and Harold thank you for the suggestion and info. Rosalyn we won't have a car. Would we be able to get around by foot.
Harold did you do breakfast there and how was it? Thanks

I did have the breakfast. It was fine if unmemorable - not bad, but nothing special. I do remember that there were several levels of breakfast; mine was €5 and I believe was continental.

Salamanca was part of a much wider-ranging trip for us, so we had a car. However, we left it parked at the hotel and walked into the historic area (5 - 10 minutes?). Everything we wanted to see there was walkable from everything else.

Ann,
My mom & enjoyed out stay in Hotel Santa Isabel.
I requested a room with a view & it was very nice, until we couldn't get to sleep because of the noise coming from the terrace right above our room!
I called the front desk & was told that the terrace would close @ 11:30pm.
The following morning we were given the option to change to a quiet room without a view, on the second floor.
They adjusted the price & we were fine without a view & without the noise...
