We are staying in Tarifa and want to day trip to Gibraltar. The Comes bus arrives at La Linea at 1:30 pm and leaves at 4:00 pm. Is that enough time to get to and enjoy Gibraltar (the rock) and be able to take the bus both ways, or should we plan to take a taxi either to La Linea or from La Linea?

I don't think that is enough time... we took a taxi tour to the top of the rock and I believe it took at least a couple of hours. Plus traveling to and from the border, i don't think that;s enough time.

Off of a cruise ship we spent most of the day seeing Gibraltar. We took the cable car to the top and walked down stopping at a number of historical points on the way down. We did spend some time in a Pub but don't think you could enjoy the rock in 2.5 hours. But you could do a quick look around. Ride cable car and up and down and call it a day.

Local buses get you to Gibraltar earlier and depart much more frequently, with a connection at Algeciras bus station. See schedules at
