It seems that tickets are sold out, tours too. Any ideas how I can get tickets ?? Has anyone been successful getting same day tickets? How early will I have to line up? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Rick's Spain book says that tickets for the General Daytime Visit are "almost never available" on the day of your visit, but limited routes and night-time tickets might be. Did you already try for a nighttime Palacios Nazaries or Circular Azul (one evening + following morning) ticket? There have been quite a few Alhambra discussions in this Spain forum that might contain a tip for you.
Ask if your accommodation can help, if staying in Granada, there is a small allocation set aside.
Purchase the 'Bono Turistico' card for the sites of Granada including the Alhambra, if you think it value.
Queue before 0800 and hope for the best.
Agree with Neil - see if your hotel can get you tickets. Otherwise, see if the nighttime tickets are available - it at least gets you in the Nasrid Palace (no other ticketed areas are open at night). That is the main highlight and many people recommend it in addition to the regular daytime visit. Good luck!
I just received conformation for a tour of the Alhambra! I am so thrilled! I want to thank you for taking the time to reply to my post. -Karin
Finally the best place i found Alhambra tickets:

...The official web is always full or not available... or link to Caixabank which always shows "sold out" warning.
Re: the immediately above.
The link is to an agency with a very large mark up.
And to say 'The official web is always full or not available... or link to Caixabank which always shows "sold out" warning.' is patently untrue.
You can get tickets for the same day. Just arrive at 5:00 am to the box office. (we took a cab) There are two lines. The first and obvious one is in front of the box office. The second one and best-kept secret is 150 feet away, passing the cafeteria and restrooms, where you are going to find four automated machines in a room surrounded by glass windows and doors.
Both places open at the same time. You need a debit card or a credit card with pin in order to buy here. My wife and I arrived together and she went to the box office while I went to the machines. I was second in line while she was around fifty. Guess who got the tickets.
^^^ Tickets at Alhambra often sell out. I'm not aware of some tickets being reserved for day-of purchases, but I've never seen it mentioned. Most likely you lucked out in that the day wasn't completely sold out. It's also possible that some tickets are set aside for hotels and such and if not used, are sold day-of.
