I wrote to the Mezquita but I am still, I think, confused by their response. On the day I plan to visit, 1 November , they are open form 8:30-11:30 and then 14:00-18:00. I think they are telling me that one ticket =one visit so if I visit in the morning,I cannot re-enter in the afternoon with out an additional ticket. Is this the correct assumption? Thanks.
Hi Jeff that's how I read it too; 1 ticket = 1 entrance. I remember when I last visited the Mezquita of Cordoba back in 2015 there was no need to pre-purchase tickets, I could just walk up and buy tickets no problem, then again I was staying in town, so I could make my visit early before all the daytrippers from Sevilla could overrun Cordoba lol!
We showed up at 11 and walked up to buy tickets last January.
On the official website it says that:
It is free to enter from 8:30 to 9:30 Monday - Saturday.
Nov 1, so I guess reduced hours due to it being their national day. Do double check the hours for the Alcazar and if the Jewish Quarter sites are also open. I will admit, I enjoyed my Archeological Museum visit, but I had 2 full days.
If you don't know about it, The Victoria Market is the old farmer's market turned foodie hang out. It is in the main park between the train/bus station and the tourist zone.
Hi Maria, actually Oct 12 is our National Day of Spain, Nov 1 is Dia de Todos los Santos, which is traditionally a day when families go to cemeteries to remember loved ones, but locals also have day off. As you can see some sites may have reduced visiting hours, I'm guessing for mass in this case.
