thoughts on itinerary - Mallorca and Barcelona

A couple weeks ago I got an email from American Airlines letting me know they canceled a leg of my Saturday return flight home (Chicago to Wichita). Our only options were to either extend our trip a day or cut it short a day. We opted to extend it. So, now I have an extra day to play around with and I'm leaning towards adding a night in Palma - there seem to be a lot of people who love the city and it looks like it would give us an entirely different feel from Barcelona and Soller. If I make the changes, we would have our arrival day, plus three full days in Soller, before we move locations to Palma. It'll be our first time visit to all of these places, but a second trip to Spain.

Before I change my hotel reservations, I'd love to get a second set of eyes on my revised Barcelona itinerary. Does it look pretty solid? Do you think adding a day/night in Palma is a good idea?

I think your days look full but not crazy.

I'd axe the Ramblas walk. There's nothing there of much interest--just crowds of tourists (the prey) and pickpockets (the predators), and you undoubtedly will already have been on the street during your earlier sightseeing.

Thanks acraven - we can definitely axe the Ramblas walk.

I definitely don't mind slowing down in Barcelona and keeping our extra day if it makes sense to do so. We're in our mid 30s and like busy days but don't want to be run ragged, either. Palma seemed interesting enough to be worth the time. I'm just really having a hard time judging where to spend the extra time! And, it seems like it would be more likely that we'd make a return trip to Barcelona before we return to Mallorca, but who knows what the future holds.
