Help use check off an item on my husband's bucket list! We'll be travelling through the Basque country(Bilbao too Bayonne) in late May, on our way to the Dordogne. Friends told us that they happened upon a small thermal spring when they travelled in this area, but it was farther west. Does anyone know of anything near our itinerary? We're not looking for anything fancy, and we just want an experience that lasts a few hours. Many thanks in advance!

It's Basque Country, and it's east, but it is in France, it is Salies de Bearn. It is about 60km east of Bayonne, and it was a big spa town before WWI. You can take the A64 to get there.
The spa has several different offers. And it is worth spending the night there.
