Thanks for the heads-up. But an irony is that many who would really appreciate the movie are not able to watch it on their tv at home.

And I am with you. I would love to see The Way again but at home.

I do not understand why it is not made more available to all.

Check your public library; they might have a copy of the DVD.

Just get the DVD, that's what I did. Have watched it 3 times over the years.

We bought a copy of the movie at a used DVD shop for $2. We watched it again tonight.

You can watch it in your own home. The link bostonphil posted is to buy a ticket for a virtual (i.e., watch on your computer or smart tv) showing for people willing to pay.

Laura, I saw the link, but we do not have or believe we have Chromecast or AppleTV/Air. I guess that was the point I was trying to obliquely make--many of the people who want to watch or watch again the movie do not have the streaming devices needed to watch the movie on their TV (and if they do, they might struggle to do what needs to be done to watch the movie).

Thanks so much! I've been trying to see this for a couple of years now. Missed it when it came locally in May (I was in Spain). I just placed it on hold at my library. I never think to look for movies there.

We were able to watch the movie last night by connecting an HDMI cable from the laptop computer to the TV. There is a section in the link under "Streaming Devices" that discusses how to do this. It was fairly straightforward.

I have seen this movie a number of times. It is a cult favorite.

Something that surprises me about the movie is that Tom and his three companions finish the Camino on November 5. Assuming it took Tom five weeks to walk the Camino and perhaps a week passed between Daniel's death and Tom's first day on the Camino, that means Daniel's accident took place around September 23. And we see at times during the Camino in October, Tom and others wearing heavy winter clothes, as well as shorts.

@RJ - back in 2017 we were in Spain from 15 May - 2 June visiting places that were in the movie. On 19 May we stopped in O Cebreiro in the mountains and near Alto de San Roque. It was 32 degrees and raining. We needed hats and gloves. Prior to it we stopped at the Cruz de Hierro/Ferro between Astorga and Molinaseca (where the characters placed their stones) and it was extremely windy and cool. So yes, it can be that cold.

In 2019 we walked the Camino from Sarria (west of O Cebreiro) to Santiago 21-27 September. Most days the temperature was in the mid to upper 50s, but while walking, shorts and short sleeves were fine. When we stopped and in the evening a light jacket was needed.

Thank you for the link. My birthday is next week and watching at home will be a present to myself.

Have walked the Camino twice in the fall and the temps can be a challenge. Freezing cold in the morning, roasting in the afternoon, cold again at night. There may be snow up in the mountains like at O Cebrio, yet later that day, you may want shorts. Spring time is the same. Last 2 Caminos, started mid April, it was about 2° every morning until mid May. We wore gloves in the morning on many occasions. Afternoons were warm to hot.

Jo, did you start from St. Jean on the occasions you walked? Roughly when? Problems on day one crossing the Pyrenees?

I have started in SJPDP twice, staying in Orisson the first time in 2018 and in Borda last April. 2 other Caminos I started in Pamplona. No problems crossing the Pyrenees, other than being slow.
