We were lucky enough to buy tickets last night (after watching Break Point on Netflix) and now we're wondering what the experience will be like. We know to take the train to the stadium. Any pointers? Our matches begin at 11:00 in Caja Mágica Estadio 1. Might we be there a couple of hours, assuming it's not a marathon like Andy Murray's? If you can think of anything we should know that might never occur to newbies to a tennis tournament, it would be so appreciated.
I am planning on going to this one and Barcelona's event the week prior. I am following this thread for info too.
We have tickets for the Barcelona Open this year too.
I haven’t been to a tournament in Spain, but generally you will see a full day of matches, not just a couple of hours. Unless you have booked for the finals day. Although you can obviously leave after a couple of hours if you prefer. You should be able to see a schedule of play the day before so that you can see which matches are on and in which order.
A couple of things that come to mind are to be mindful of sun protection if it’s an outdoor stadium, and you may be restricted from taking some items in, eg at the Aust Open you can’t take glass containers in. Also you can’t walk around in the stadium while the match is in play, you need to wait until a gap between games.
