The Eixample

I have booked my ticket to the Sagrada Familia but am wondering if it is worth the price to see both the Casa Batllo and La Pedrera (Casa Mila) as well? Park Guell? What is the best of Gaudi? Thanks for your help.

We visited all the places you mention and we enjoyed all of them. Casa Batllo and Casa Mila are homes so of course very different from Sagrada Familia and Park Guell. They are all worth visiting IMO. And Casa Batllo and Casa Mila are very different from each other, too. I recommend visiting all of these places if you have the time.

Are they worth the price? IMO, they are! My philosophy is that when I spend the money on airfare to get somewhere and on hotels, I want to see all the sites that interest me. The admission fees are nothing compared to airfares and hotel rates. I also ask myself if I would regret not visiting a site when I return home.

I’m in Barcelona now after arriving here Sunday.
My Top Picks are: 1. Sagrada Familia
2. Casa Batllo. 3. Casa Pedrera ( Mila). 4. Casa Vicens ( Gaudi’s first project)
I would reserve the first time slot for the first three as the sites are overwhelmed by 10:30am. Casa Battlo offers a “Be the First Visit” ticket for 8:30am admission which gives you and perhaps 50 other visitors the run of Casa Batllo before the throngs pour in at 9am. For €15 more than the general admission ticket, It is well worth it to be able to enjoy Casa Battlo in peace and take photos before the throngs photobomb all your pix.
Skip the grossly overrated Parc Guell and instead head for Lluis Domenech Montaner’s nearby “Sant Pau Recinte Modernista” Hospital complex— it is just stunning and because there are no crowds at Sant Pau Recinte—no reservations are needed. If the hospital I go to looked like this— I would want to be hospitalized constantly!
Last tip: the masterpiece of Modernista Interiors is considered to be the “Palau de la Musica Catalana” by Lluis Domenech Montaner. Taking in a sunset concert in this stunning Concert Hall is the best way to enjoy it.
Have a great time in Barcelona!

I have visited all 4 of these and think they are worth it. I would even have a hard time picking between Casa Battlo and Casa Milla if I had to because they are so different. I also enjoyed the Palau de Musica Catalana. I didn’t see a concert but I booked a tour and had a chance to stand on stage while they played the organ. Amazing experience in such a beautiful setting.
