We are staying 4 nights in the Algarve and have found beautiful hotels in Luz and in Lagos. Any thoughts as to location?

Luz is very hilly and as it lacks public transport, I assume you will have a car? It has a reasonable selection of restaurants.
Lagos is much bigger and has a better choice of things to do and places to eat.
I like the beaches on the west coast, so Luz is slightly closer.
If you are travelling off season, there will be more open in Lagos.
