Castelldefels?... what on Earth landed you there? LOL! Despite it has a beautiful beach promenade, it wouldn't have been my first option at all.

We loved everything about our travel adventure! We were so glad we started in Castelldefells to chill after a long plane flight-we loved the beach, the paseo walk with tons of other people early evening and the food and fewer tourists- We took a quick bus ride from Castelldefels to the tourist area in Barcelona to walk down Las Ramblas. The Barcelona Sants train station was the scene of a bigger protest, we witnessed some other protests when we returned to Barcelona on their election day-

Our favorite city was Cordoba! we found the Mezquita fascinating and beautiful...We stayed in a fantastic airbnb in the old quarter off Plaza Correderos, with great views. In Triana (over the Isabel bridge from Sevilla) our lodging had a fabulous view of the Cathedral and Giralda tower. We loved all our lodgings and had no hassles.
We stayed above a families ceramic shop and residence in the Albayzin area of Granada- really interesting Moorish tiles and authentic looking with a great view towards Sacromente! We loved the view of the Alhambra from Sacromente and Plaza de San Nicolas.

We loved everything about Malaga...from the street music, the crowds, the beach, the food, beautiful city,,

Our favorite meal was in a Moroccan restaurant in Cordoba- we ate a lot in teteria's in Andalucia, and we shopped and cooked our own meals too.

We booked last minute high speed trains between most cities, except we took a great bus ride from Malaga to Granada! We flew Vueling back to Barcelona from Granada and it worked perfectly! Public transportation was a breeze!

Only regret is we needed more time- and 2 nights was not long enough in Cordoba!

So happy your trip was a big success! I agree Cordoba ranks up in the top 3 cities in Spain, from me. Also great out-of-the-box idea about staying at Castelldefels for some relax time, now thinking about it, it's a nice beach area, with a seaside promenade, and almost no tourists compared to the area around la Barceloneta. Castelldefels reminds me a lot of Santa Monica in Los Angeles :-)

Carlos mi bueno amigo, I am sure your Kiwi adventure will be an adventurous one. I will look forward to your trip report. Will your New Zealand adventure be taken place in 2020? I will have to venture to Castelldefels next year on my return to Andalusia. Looking at the pics online of the beach, the coastal town looks stunning.
