Tenerife with children - recommendations

Hi
We are planning a trip to Tenerife with children (7, 12 and 14)
I have just read Loro parque is closed, which was one of our top priorities on the list.

We will be staying in the area of Los Gigantes. Any recommendations are welcomed!

Thanks

I would definitely take the kids to Teide National Park, on the interior of the island. At 3700 meters, Teide Pico-Viejo is the highest peak/volcano in Spain. When we were there, we were above the clouds, which is quite the experience for being on land. There are interesting rock formations and geological variations that were fun to explore. It's a very popular site. The road up is narrow and winding, and there's not much parking. A lot of companies offer coach trips, which is what we were on, and it was a good way to visit without a lot of stress.

Thanks for this advise.
We have just come back from a few days in Tenerife. We did the Teide and took the cable car. Great experience! There were mainly french tourists at the hotel due to the school break and since this was just before the lockdown announced in France. The Teide was fantastic but our top highlights was an excursion to enjoy doplhins. We took the boat at the harbour next to the Los Gigantes cliffs and enjoyed a 2 hour excursion. We saw 2 groups of dolphins and the captain said there was a huge whale (rorcual type) in the area but that stayed shy in the sea-depth.
We also visited the village of Masca. Very impressive and road not as bad as we had bee told.
Snorkel was not possible due to lots of waves in the shore (but not when we enjoyed the excursion) There was "Mar de Fondo" which made it dangerous to enjoy the beaches. We were however told snorkel can be great near los Gigantes. There are excursions with kayaks but we did not dare due to sea conditions and the age of one of the children.
This was our only trip this year and the overall feeling was positive despite Covid restrictions. The sad side is to see many business closed in Tenerife.

We visited the Canary Island on a cruise. I think it was Gran Canaria. We found the island very scenic and loved a botanical garden that we visited. The plant life on the Canary Islands, like many isolated islands is unique.

We did enjoy a drive that took us to a mountain peak for very scenic views.
