Greetings from T4 at Madrid Barajas, where I’m on my way to Gran Canaria.
I thought I’d drop a note to share that the flat rate for taxis to and from the city center has bumped to 33€. (ill let you decide whether that’s “just three euros” or “a whole 10 percent!”.)
I imagine the rest of the taxi rate table has been similarly adjusted, but I almost never take cabs around town, so don’t really know.

last Tuesday I took a taxi from Barajas to the center of Madrid. They taxi stand in the terminal told me it would be 33€. When I got to my hotel, the guy only charged me 30€. I guess that on the 2nd the guy hadn´t yet adjusted his meter.
dlindstrom- Interesting. I arrived on Thursday and was charged 30€. Accustomed to that, I didn’t think twice. Leaving today the meter was 33, which matched the fare-card sticker on the window.
I’d be surprised is drivers weren’t eager for the increase. But I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the change is a slow papeleo requiring cl@ves and formas digitales and cita previas.
