I’m interested in learning preference and affordability.
Just take a taxi. The airport is close to the center city on the southwest.
I made a mistake and took the metro to my hotel.
You could take the Aerobus. It is a fun ride. Check your hotel location and bus route to determine the practicality. Here's the link: http://www.aerobusbcn.com/en/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuMvWvcOk5AIVix6tBh0zzwdXEAAYASAAEgI7XfD_BwE
We took a taxi (from the taxi line just outside the terminal) to our rental apartment near the Sagrada Familia and I think it was around 35 euros. It was fast, easy and reasonably priced. Since we had luggage I didn't want to have to navigate public transportation or walk too far at either end, after our long flight.
Also, taxis in Barcelona have raised their prices these past few years, so expect it to be still fairly reasonable but not cheap, as in previous years.
Thank you all! We’ll be taking a taxi.
... vague question, vague responses.
Where exactly is your hotel?
