We are taking a tour that takes us to Sagrada Familia and we are on our own from there.
Is it difficult to get a taxi in that area back to our hotel?
Are there taxi stands or would we be better off walking to a hotel or restaurant and getting one from there?
Thanks for the help.
When we went there we just walked the 12 blocks from our hotel (Hotel Balmes), but your hotel could be further away.
Specific to your question, using Google maps street view, there is a marked taxi stand/area at the corner of Carrer de Mallorca and Carrer de Sardenya.
Plenty of taxis, don't worry. There are literally a ton of taxis either in the taxi ranks around the Sagrada Família or just passing by at any minute of the day. If you see one with the green pilot on the roof, hail it.
But as mentioned, Barcelona is a city "made for walking", it's so easy going from A to B -and worthwhile- that unless there's a compelling reason, I would plan for walking back to the hotel.
Where's your hotel located?
