We will arrive in Hendaye about 11:45, and would like to take a taxi to the bus station in San Sebastian. From there we will take a bus to Bilbao. We are traveling on May 8th.
Are taxi's readily available? Any idea of cost? Rome to Rio says about $30, but I'm not sure how accurate that is.

Why not just take the train to Bilbao? Euskotren has a station in Hendaye and trains run every half hour. No need for advance bookings, this is mass transit.
Euskotren does have trains to Bilbao--but there are 2 changes and takes 5-7 hours, as near as I can tell. It's only 76 miles!
The PESA Bus from San Sebastian takes 1 1/2 hours maximum, so this seems like a better route.
The Euskotren line between Donostia/San Sebastian and Bilbao is a bit slow. But 2 changes and 5-7 hours is not true. It should be around 3 hours from Hendaye.
The coach will be faster, but taking a taxi from Hendaye is a bit silly. From Hendaye to Donostia/San Sebastian there is nothing wrong with Euskotren. It's fast enough, 40 minutes between the cities, frequent and cheap.
Take a look at the Alsa buses from Irun to Bilbao. You can take the Euskotren from Hendaye to Irun, and then a bus to Bilbao. It looks like the bus rides run around 2h, and go for 9€
