All, Looking for suggestions on transportation from the port in Tarragona, Spain to Barcelona’s El Prat airport. I’ll have plenty of time to make the journey. Thanks in advance.

The best way is to take the regional train from the train station located directly on the coast. Not the high speed train. The high speed train station is located several KM's inland of the coast. There are 2 train stations in Tarragona. If you are actually on the coast wanting to transfer to Barcelona, the easiet method without additional transportation is use the train station for regional trains, not the high speed trains. Pull up Tarragona in google maps locating the train station on coast. The station is on the coast side perpendicular to their Rambla street across from the promenade. Look further west outside of Tarragona and you see where the high speed train station is located. A ways out. Not sure if you need another connecting train. Just get to the Barcelona - Sants station where you can a catch connection. The key to using trains is looking for the train station in google maps first. Selecting directions from there will show you route options. If something looks complicated, look for another pick up point within the route directions. Took me a little bit. But after doing it for several of my planned day trips, it became very easy. Then I book my train. I also prefer to in this case RENFE. However if something looks complicated. I take a look in TrainLines.com. Trainlines, does not focus on train stations within a city. You search on the city, providing solutions from the available train stations within the city.
