What would be the quickest and simplest way to get to Tarifa? I'd be flying in from the US to an international airport. I'm a solo senior female traveler and do not want to rent a car. Any tips for the visit from someone who has been there?
To reach Tarifa, I (European) fly into Málaga (it is an international airport - IATA: AGP, ICAO: LEMG)
After a quick transfer (20 minutes bus or train) to the Estación de Autobuses de Málaga, I can take a 2,5 hours direct busride (direction Cádiz) with arrival in Tarifa.

I used to live not far away.
Are you going to Tarifa for a particular reaason?
It is an attractive small town, but more suitable for a day visit.
More information will help us give you more information!
Thank you.
I want to go for the 2027 solar eclipse.
Have you thought about Cadiz, nearer, larger, more interesting, easier transport connections and listed as one of the places to watch from?
Cádiz ... easier transport connections
Really? No airline offers direct (nonstop) flights from the United States to Seville (San Pablo Airport, SVQ) or Jerez (Jerez Airport, XRY).
So from Málaga, you can get to Tarifa faster than to Cádiz.
But I do agree that Cádiz is bigger than Tarifa.
You could also fly to Jerez and stay there....just a quick change in Madrid. Lovely small Andaluz city that you can probably cover on foot.
Just an overview of all potential places

... or just wait until 2028 to admire the wonderful 'ring of fire' https://www.touringcars.com/en/news/experience-the-total-solar-eclipse-in-spain/
I might worry about foggy skies along the coast but fog would probably dissapate by eclipse time. If this were me I might consider Vejer but that really requires a car
