Tangier

If you don't get a response to this query, it's not because folks don't want to be helpful, but because a lot of us feel that Tangier doesn't make a good day-trip from Spain and don't have any experience on which to base a recommendation for a tour operstor.

In the RS Spain book there is info on package tours as well as local guides. We used Aziz Benami a year ago this month for a one-day tour. The guide met the ferry from Tarifa and it was just the two of us, guide, and driver for the entire day. It was great. Benami even has a US toll-free number. Would more time in Tangier be helpful? Of course. But do what you want to do or have to do. Have a great trip.

We just finished a day trip from Tarifa to Tangier yesterday. We used Said Tours which gave us a private 6 hour tour and it was fabulous, although somewhat expensive. It was definitely worth the cost. See what others say about this tour on Tripadvisor. It's the #1 thing to do in Tangier. I wouldn't go to Tangier without a guide. If you do pick the Said Tour, ask for Said Nasir as your guide.
