Spanish friends have given us 3 boxes of gift wrapped mazapan (marzipan) to take back home to friends in US. I’m wondering how best to travel with them. I’m thinking it might be best to bring in our carry on so I can know what happens to them?.... I’m wondering if they will have to be unwrapped to get through security in Madrid or through customs in US? Or any issue with mazapan with US customs? Any experience with gift wrapped food items? Thank you!
