Taking a train or bus from Porto to Vigo

I hope, this community can help me again.

We need to cross the border between Portugal and Spain from Porto to Vigo.

If we are renting a car at Vigo airport, is it better to take a train that arrives to Vigo Guixar or a bus that could get to Vigo Central or Bus station. I could not find any transportation to get to Vigo Airport directly from Porto.

Thank you. I’ll appreciate any help.

Enterprise and Europcar both have offices at Vigo Guixar train station.

The bus from to the airport does not appear to go near Vigo Guixar train station. See http://www.aena.es/en/vigo-airport/public-transport.html and http://www.vitrasa.es/renovaciones-44_L9A. You'd have to study the map more to figure whether it goes very close to Vigo bus station on Av. de Madrid. You might be better off taking a taxi to the airport, if you must rent there.

Our Porto hotel arranged a taxi for us to go to the rental car office in Vigo. It was 150€. My spouse can’t ride in a bus.
We had train tickets but there was a problem when we were going. We had been quoted a 1000€ drop fee in Barcelona if we took a car we rented in Lisbon there. It was so easy, mostly highway driving.
