I have read that you can buy metro T10 tickets at the tobacco shop in terminal 1, has anyone done this and is there anywhere else to buy T10 tickets in Terminal 1?
Nope... you might try at the Customer Information but I believe they don't -not sure though. Otherwise, at Terminal 2 there are ATM machines at the train station where you can also purchase the T-10. Worst case scenario, you can purchase it once in Barcelona... after all a single ticket is merely 2.15€ (regular bus #46 outside terminal 1)
There's definitely a tobacco shop at the Sants train station (sort of diagonally across the concourse from the tourist office) that sells T-10s, so I think there's an excellent chance you'll find the same situation at the airport.
I know you can buy the multi-day cards at the tourist information at T1 - so I assume you can get the T10 ones there. It is just as easy to use the automatic ticket machines as you enter the metro. Keep in mind that the T10 doesn't include transport to the airport - the multi-day tickets do but for all other Barcelona Metro there is a specific airport ticket you need to purchase.
The T-10 actually does include transportation to the airport now with the #46 bus, right? Or is the airport outside the zone covered by the T-10?
Sarah,
Yes, you can use the T10 on bus #46 to/ from the airport to the city center.
Keep in mind that bus #46 takes longer than the Aerobus (airport express bus) because it makes more stops.
You can read more about bus #46, here:https://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/airport/transport/barcelona-airport-bus-tmb.html
Thank you, Priscilla! Great link too.
Don, I'd be interested to hear after your trip, if you were able to buy the T10 at the airport.
Sorry to clarify - I meant the metro requires a special ticket to the airport. Yes it works on the #46 bus to Plaça Espana.
