Synagogues, cemeteries, and settlements: Spain’s hidden Jewish heritage

Hi all, I know that Jewish heritage tourism is a popular reason for visiting Spain these days, so I thought I'd share a fascinating article from El Pais I read. The article discusses the transformation of the Jewish community in the Iberian Peninsula, through the story of Salomon Halevi, a tax collector and chief Rabbi of Burgos who converted to Christianity in the 14th century and whose son later become a Catholic Bishop.

The article also covers several recent discoveries of Jewish sites in Spain, including newfound synagogues and cemeteries, and discusses the rich cultural and architectural heritage of the Sephardic Jewish community.

Here is the English version of the article - https://english.elpais.com/spain/2023-04-13/synagogues-cemeteries-and-settlements-spains-hidden-jewish-heritage.html
