Supermarkets etc on New Years Day El Palo Malaga

hi all
New to this , I saw last year that someone asked about supermarkets in el palo outside Malaga. He got some tips , however, I am going this Christmas and New Year, so it would be great to get a few tips off him, or anyone else

thanks in advance

Not sure if this helps, but I was in Barcelona a year and a half ago on New Years Day. From the way folks were talking, I expected EVERYTHING to be closed down. As it turned out, much was closed but we had options. The tourist attractions seemed to all be open and here and there a few restaurants and shops were open.

You could try contacting the Malaga Tourist Office with your question.

Our experience with southern Spain over New Years is that just about everything except for a couple of restaurants in hotels was closed. In fact, everything started closing early New Years eve. We had taken a walking tour the 29th and our tour guide in Seville had strongly recommended that we visit the grocery stores that day and get what we wanted for New Years eve and day since everything would be closed.
