Does anyone know what time the regular Sunday Mass is held at Toledo cathedral? I've looked at the website and am confused - there's another rite held in a chapel, but I'm looking for the main Mass. My itinerary (tentative) has me leaving Toledo on a Sunday for Barcelona, and knowing the mass time will help with the rest. I want to attend the mass, I plan to do the tourist visit the day before. I've been to Toledo, and the cathedral, but not for mass.
I think it would be worth it for you to send your question to the "Information" email provided on this website: http://www.catedralprimada.es/contacto/
My understanding from this webpage is that Sunday mass in the cathedral is at 9:45, but it would be worth it for you to confirm with the cathedral if your schedule is that dependent upon it: http://www.catedralprimada.es/rito_mozarabe_horario/
The cathedral opens at 14:00 on Sundays for visitors, meaning the mass will happen well before then. If possible, you could consider scheduling yourself to leave for Barcelona after 14:00, so that no matter when the mass starts, you will be sure to make it.
Enjoy your time in Spain!
You may be looking at the schedule for the Mozarabic rite – they have one chapel in the cathedral and they may only say one Mass on a Sunday. (And it is a very beautiful rite.)
When I was there, there were multiple masses of the Latin rite on weekdays, so I'm certain there will be multiple masses on a Sunday. I would guess hourly or so thru the morning. If you're not finding the info on their website, I suggest you call the tourist information office or your hotel.
Hi Mira,
There is a mass at the cathedral every day (see schedule below) but they are usually held at a chapel within the cathedral.
If you want to attend the Sunday mass that is held in the main cathedral, which includes the choir, it's held at 9:45 AM.
Here is the schedule: http://www.catedralprimada.es/horarios/
Make sure to double check the mass schedule the day before when you visit the cathedral.
Enjoy your trip!
