We will be staying in LaGuardia for 2 nights and would like to do a winery tour. We aren't looking for a particular wine, just the experience of touring a winery in Spain. The Rick Steve's Spain book suggests Marques de Riscal but wanted to ask the forum about any other recommendations. Thanks!
This company is well reviewed and offers a variety of tour experiences.

Hi Patty, the first question is when are you going to be in Laguardia? The week from the 23rd to the 29th is fiesta in the town. And any time in September will be harvest time. For me October is the most beautiful time.
That aside, in Laguardia I would recommend Bodegas Palacios. It is at the foot of the hill. If you have a car you must visit Dinastia Vivanco. Another good place to go for ideas is the DOC Rioja. They list all the wineries in the DOC, which includes many wineries in Laguardia.
I would also suggest taking a look at Wine and the 5 senses. La Rioja state and the DOC organize a lot of different activities with the theme wine and the five senses. Each sense gets a month. They have tasting, concerts, and various activities.
Thank you dlindstrom for this information. We will be driving. I wasn't clear before but we aren't interested in a wine area tour by a tour company. Instead we want to visit one-two wineries and get a tour of those wineries. I will definitely put your suggestions on my list. With only one full day and the need to have a tour in English, we may be limited in our choices, but I think just driving around the countryside will be beautiful.
