My husband & I want to do a pre-stay in a lovely little French town where we can walk to restaurants, shops, sites, rent bikes & basically chill out for a couple of nites before we start a more hectic Spain land tour that starts in Barcelona(Oct 2024) . While we’ve enjoyed visiting big cities in the past like London, Munich etc we really appreciated the relaxed, quaint towns like the Cotswolds, Lauterbrunnen etc. We will not have a car so need a relatively easy way to get a train to Barcelona and no more than around 3 hrs from there. Any suggestions for lovely hotels(don't want to go overboard on cost) or B & B’s for this 40th wedding anniversary trip would also be appreciated.
