Staying in Cardoba and day trips to Seville

Hi,
I'm in Spain in December during the Christmas break.
Will it be wise that I station myself in Cardoba and take day trips to Seville and Granada.
I will be in Cardoba for 3 days.

Regards and Thank you in advance.

You can reach both towns from Cordoba on daytrips within a reasonable amount of time.
A reasonable amount of time based on my own taste is 2 hours one way to reach a day trip destination.
I am assuming you did research and based on your interests on what you want to see and do in Seville and Granada you decided that Cordoba is where you want to be. So it is wise to station yourself there and take daytrips.

I’m a bit confused by your post. How many nights will you have for this trip?

If you only have 3 days...
I’d not recommend a day trip to Granada as it would be a very long day- almost 3 hours each way.

You could take a day trip to Seville (take the AVE- high sport train) however, I think it’s best to allocate at least 2-3 days to see this beautiful city.

Enjoy!

Yes I agree with Priscilla, I checked the ride from Cordoba to Granada it is too long for a day trip.

Seeing Granada, it's much easier and better to plan at least one overnight. This is because the Nasrid Palace in the Alhambra has admission by strict timed tickets (miss your 30 minute window of admission, and you don't get in). And tickets for the Alhambra can be hard to get, and you can't count on getting a particular admission time.

So, it's best to plan to see the Alhambra the day after you arrive in Granada, since seeing the whole complex takes much of a day, and you can't guarantee which time you'll be assigned the Nasrid Palace.

With only three days, you can certainly stay in either Cordoba or Seville, and see the other one by day trips. Save Granada for another trip.

Hola,
I would go to Cordoba and make it home for all three days. The money you might not spend on bus or train tickets can be allocated to a bit nicer place to stay in Cordoba, or better meals.

I have just visited Cordoba, Granada, and will leave Sevilla tomorrow morning. In a way, each city is a one pony show. But the city is why you're there. Cordoba is a wonderful place to wander around. I really enjoyed the pace of Cordoba once you got two blocks away from the mesquita. Granada is a bit bigger feeling, a bit dirtier, but its pony is special and if you like gardens...it is a great walk up to the Alhambra. Seville is a happening city. Lots of energy, youth, bars, tapas. I would stay north of the cathedral by three to five blocks to avoid the tourist groups and to be in the middle of 'it'.

So maybe I am saying Sevilla is where you should camp out.

Thank you so much everyone for help and guidance.
What we plan to do is station ourselves in Cordoba for just 2 days and then spend a night in Granada before we move to madrid for our next leg of the holiday.
