Springbreak trip to Andalusia - what to cover in short time?

Hello,

I will be visiting Spain during Spring Break (March 2019). Airline tickets are already purchased. This will be a very short trip flying in and out of Malaga. We will also be stopping in Dublin to visit family during the St. Pats weekend. I need some advise on how to coordinate the short time we will have in Spain. We arrive into Malaga at 7:00 PM on a Sunday evening and leave the following Friday evening for Dublin. Would like to see Granada, Cordoba and Seville but wonder if this will be too much. Any suggestions on a short itinerary would be wonderful. I feel that staying near Malaga the first night will be a waste but I am also thinking it might be better to start our travels on the Monday morning when we have daylight and all day to get going. We will be relying on public transportation or possibly day tours.

Thanks

Margaret

You are quite right to worry about doing too much. Sunday is not the best day for plentiful bus or train options or car rental either. So you may end up spending Sunday night in Malaga. It will take you a half day from there to get to any of your destinations and get checked into a hotel. So at best you have four full days plus perhaps Friday morning to actually vacation. More likely you have three full days and one half day. Any change of cities will eat a half day.

It's a fairly fast trip by train from Cordoba to Malaga Airport. You might start or finish with a night in Cordoba and spend the remainder of your time in either Seville or Granada.

Why would spending the night in Malaga be a waste? Malaga has tons to offer, Andalusia is much more than Granada, Cordoba and Seville.

I think my plan will be to stay in Malaga the Sunday evening and catch the train in the morning to Sevilla. Stay three nights here and possibly take a day trip out. Take the train to Cordoba Thursday and train into Malaga Airport the afternoon on Friday. I will have to come back another time to see Granada - its just too far in the other direction for me to make it work on this tight schedule. If anyone has any suggestions on day trips out from Sevilla - please let me know
Thanks
