We are spending the night in Malaga near the airport, this coming February, as we have an early flight out. However, that night is my DH's birthday and so I would like us to have a nice evening. Can anyone suggest a restaurant that is near the airport that would be good?

In October 2023 we had an amazing dinner at El Tapeo de Cervantes. The tuna literally melted in your mouth.

Dynamit is in the city center but well worth a taxi ride. Food is excellent. Restaurant is small, not fancy, but perfect for a quiet celebration. Highly recommend.

Malaga is a wonderful place to spend a night, and I’d recommend staying in the city center rather than the airport. Connections to/from the airport are actually better than from, say, the Holiday Inn Express. I’m a budget solo traveler so I can’t recommend a splurge restaurant, but a friend told me about the upstairs balcony tables at Bar Malaga. (It’s a busy tapas bar downstairs but apparently totally different upstairs. I am going to check it out next week.) There is really nothing notable near the airport for dinner, but it is easy to get to the center from the airport. Take the C1 train from the airport (best) or the A bus from the airport or nearby. Uber is here now, too.
