My two sons will be arriving via air in Madrid at separate times and taking the train to join my wife and me in Seville. My questions are:
1. Is it necessary to pre purchase the train ticket from the Madrid airport to the Madrid train station? I see it is $6 from the Omio app and runs on the hour and is a 1/2 hr trip.
2. If they pre purchase a train ticket from Madrid train station to Seville train station for 1:00 pm for example, can they take the 12:40? Wondering if they can check with the ticket agent to confirm there is space available on the earlier train.
3. I see from the 2017 Rick Steves Spain book (most recent I have) that the train apps don't accept US credit cards. Is this still the case with chip cards?
