My mom & I took a taxi when we stayed at Hotel Santa Isabel in Toledo.
You may also take a bus from the train station to Plaza De Zocodover, and walk to the hotel, if you wish.

Other than taking a taxi to your hotel when first arriving, the metro works best for getting around in Barcelona. The Urquinanoa Metro Station by your hotel is just one stop from the Passeig de Gracia Metro/ Train station. Passeig de Gracia has connections to multiple Metro lines throughout Barcelona and train routes beyond the city.

In Barcelona it's good to know about the train station by the hotel. I checked and it seems that I can take a train there to Montserrat, is this correct?

This would be an easy Metro ride from Atocha to the Gra Via stop, but a chunk of that line is under construction until at least October. If I were traveling before service is restored to line 1 I'd just take a taxi.
