Spain traffic ticket after 6 months

I live in the US. I received a $100 euro speeding ticket in Spain . Tried paying online, but couldn't figure it out (learned after the fact that your computer needs to be in the London Time zone or the entry would not work). I forgot about this issue, figured out how to log in, and now the ticket is assigned to the Spanish Tax Authority. I went to their website and tried to find help in how to pay this. Does anyone know where I can go to pay the fine through the Spanish Tax Authority? I cannot find a link on their site, but cannot figure it out. Any assistance is appreciated.

As a Basque Spaniard, I appreciate your efforts in trying to pay, but as a US resident it´s highly unlikely that this traffic ticket will affect you in any way in the future, unless you plan to return to Spain and drive. Traffic tickets apply to EU residents and they can be legally enforced, I doubt they can proceed against you in the US. But again, thank you for trying to comply with your duties.

Thanks for the reply. Spent three weeks in Spain last year, and loved everything about. I am going back. Plus, I like to pay my debts ;)

Well, Europeans renting cars in the USA also get tickets...the way to avoid them is to just follow the traffic laws. In both places 🙂

Guess I got lucky with the website in 2017 when I got my ticket. It worked perfectly and since I promptly paid, that 100€ ticket was only 50€. Since the ticket gave the kilometer marker where the camera was located, I went to Google maps street view and found it. In my case I started accelerating from 70kph to 80kph before the limit change sign when leaving a small town.

Is Spain required to post warnings of speed cameras? ( I saw this in France)

Yes, all fixed radars (radar boxes) locations are public and can be checked here, https://infocar.dgt.es/etraffic/Buscador?caracter=acontecimiento&Camaras=true&SensoresMeteorologico=true&SensoresTrafico=true&Paneles=true&Radares=true&IncidenciasRETENCION=true&IncidenciasOBRAS=false&IncidenciasMETEOROLOGICA=true&IncidenciasPUERTOS=true&IncidenciasOTROS=true&IncidenciasEVENTOS=true&IncidenciasRESTRICCIONES=true&provincia=77&poblacion=&carretera=&PK=&version=mapa&pagina=null&accion_buscar=Buscar

(sorry, long link...). There´s also obligation of a sign of warning of a coming (fixed) radar. Hidden radars (cars, behind lamp posts,...) are located by the police in random places and there´s no obligation of telling you where they are.

In the Basque Country, where I live, all radar boxes are painted in bright yellow, so you see them easily.
