Spain to Portugal One Way Car Rental

In checklist around I couldn't find any car rental companies allowing a one way car rental from Spain into Portugal (Lisbon is our final destination, with Sevilla our last Spain stop before that) without very large one way fee for drop off (but if anyone knows of any would love any advice). So seems the next best approach is drop the rental car in Sevilla, then either find a bus from say Sevilla to Lagos/Faro (our next stop after Sevilla) or some kind of shared ride/private car (just depending on how much we want to spend and flexibility there). There will be 3 adults traveling. But would be curious if anyone else has run across this with other thoughts?

The question of connecting Spain and Portugal comes up often on this forum. Here’s a reply I have posted previously:
“No trains connect these two areas, but both Alsa bus lines (Spanish) and Eva bus lines (Portuguese) run busses between Seville and Faro. Alsa is faster, with fewer stops along the way, including both Faro and Faro Airport. Alsa runs two or three busses per day from Seville to Faro. It's a 3 to 3.5 hour ride, depending on which Seville station you use. Plaza de Armas is on the western edge of the centre, and it's another half hour from the main train station. Note that there is a one hour time zone change crossing into Portugal, so a four hour trip gets you there three hours later on the clock.... I took the Alsa bus from Seville to Faro airport in May 2016, and it was a pleasant and comfortable trip. See alsa.es or eva-bus.com for full info (both sites have an English option).” (The same busses continue on to Lagos.)

I had done the same as you plan to do- dropped a rental car in Seville and stayed a few nights. Then I bussed to Faro airport, picked up a car there and ultimately dropped it off in Lisbon.
