Does anyone have any suggestions on visiting Morocco from Spain. I have looked at a getaway from FRS which would include a ferry ride from the following website:http://www.frs.es/en/tours-to-morocco/tours-to-morocco/getaways/
does this seem like a good idea?
Any better suggestions? Not sure if this ferry ride will bring me from Spain (Grenada) to Morocco. What's the best city in Morocco to travel to?
FRS is the ferry operator, so we know they have the sailing part "down pat." The ferries run between Tarifa and Tangier, from what I saw, the same as if you booked each piece separately. Packages don't mention any transfer from Granada; you'd have to get a separate bus to Tarifa (via Algeciras). If you have time for a plan including Asilah (small, relatively quiet, coastal town, often done as a daytrip from Tangier) or Chaouen/Chefchauen (more remote in the hills, not served by train), then you'll get a better view of Morocco and they're bundling in ground transport to those towns. Both are know for blue-painted houses, Chefchauen more so. I did not try to judge the hotels included, but saw the term "parador" in Chefchauen, which is usually nice. Rick's Spain guidebook covers Tarifa and Tangier. For Asilah or Chefchauen, you might buy a chapter online from Lonely Planet.
