Spain Siesta - gas stations affected?

We are travelling to Spain this October and going to do a bit of a road trip, travelling through the Andalucia region, near Madrid, and through Basque country.

I can't find if the mid day siesta affects gas stations. Should we make sure to fill up in the mornings? Or not worry? In even small towns?

Thanks!

I never had any trouble finding a station that was open. You’re only going to need to fill up once a week or so. I usually fill up when the tank is half full. That way I have plenty of gas to find a station in case I’m in any area where there are fewer stations.

Hello, our siestas do not affect gas stations hours, most are open 24 hr/7 days a week, small town or big town, North or South. The only things that close are smaller retail stores.

A lot of the gas station have self serve. You can use a cash or a credit card.

I would not count on using an American credit card to pay for gas at an unstaffed station. From what I've read on this forum, it might very well not work.
