My wife and I (mid/late 50's) are travelling to Spain and Portugal in January. We only have 3 weeks available to us - so know things are going to be a bit on the rushed side. We're DIY travellers - so trying to map out an itinerary that takes into account the best places to visit - but also means that we're not staying in 21 cities in 21 nights - trying to space it out a bit.
At the moment we're thinking along the lines of ....
Barcelona 4 nights
Madrid 3 nights
Porto 4 nights
Lisbon 3 nights
Seville 3 nights
Granada 2 nights
Ideally using a combination of flights (Madrid to Porto, Lisbon to Seville) and trains between other cities. Everything is flexible apart from arriving on a long international flight early on our first day in Barcelona.
We're conflicted however about whether we're spending a night too many in Barcelona and Porto. Does anybody have any suggestions?
