We are planning a trip to southern Spain the second and third week of November, thinking it will be be shoulder season and a little cooler. We would fly into and out of Madrid and travel by train. We are currently thinking the first two nights in Madrid, then a night in Toledo, one night in Cordoba, two nights in Granada, and four nights in Seville, and the remaining nights back in Madrid.
Are we missing something or does this sound about right? Another night in Granada or Toledo? Colder than we think in November? We would be happy to get your input.
We visited Granada in late November and wore winter coats and scarves the whole time. Temps were in the 50’s. It was rainy in Madrid when we were there for a day.
I’m not a fan of one night stops. I would consider a day trip to Toledo from Madrid. And day trip to Cordoba from Seville. I do think Granada is worth 3 nights. Remember that two nights is only one full sightseeing day, and there is sooooo much fabulousness to see in Granada.
In Madrid, in November, the average high temperature is 56 and the average low is 43. I'm from Florida, so that seems pretty nasty to me, but if you're from Canada, that might seem really nice.
In Granada, in November, the average high temperature is 62 and the average low is 43.
Thank you to travel4fun and Marty for your help. We’ll look into moving our trip up’s couple of weeks to adjust for weather. We are from the Chicago area so 60s aren’t terribly cold, but we want to avoid coats. We like to travel light.
Thanks, also, for your input about taking day trips to cover Toledo and Cordoba.
