Hi everyone! I’m planning a trip to Spain in April, and my cousin mentioned that it gets quite busy during Holy week. I’ll be traveling through Andalusia, stopping in Granada, Córdoba, and Seville. I’m curious if it’s still possible to enjoy these cities during that time, as I’m hoping for a more laid back experience. I’ve been to Spain before, specifically Almeria and Cadiz, but that was in June.
Thanks for your help!
You definitely can enjoy yourself in those cities, but don’t expect them to be as laid back as Almería or Cádiz. Each is a major tourist destination and are more crowded than the two cities you’ve been to. Go a couple blocks off the main tourist hangouts/sites and you’ll be able to find some lovely quiet spots. Have a nice trip.
We spent a spring break (all of Holy Week) traveling in Spain including five days in Granada, Cordoba and Sevilla. Sevilla is very busy but quite magical with all of the processions. There are still LOTS of uncrowded spots, restaurants, etc. It may not all be "laid-back" but it is part of the authentic Spain... which is what we wanted to see.
