Spain Entry Requirements

I am travelling to Spain at the end of September from the US and I am having trouble finding specific information on getting the QR code. I can't enter any information until 72 hours prior to arriving.

For the vaccine document would a simple paper certificate for my booster work or does it need some additional information?

For a negative PCR test would a simple test from CVS or Walgreens work or do I need an official one that has my passport number on there as well?

Any advice from someone who has gone to Spain recently from the US would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I'll add to what's in that linked post—

Filling out the SpTH will get you the QR code (I thought it was 48 hours, but maybe you're right with 72.) You will not need to upload any document to the app, only enter the dates of the last dose/booster, and attest to the veracity of the information. (The health control people in the airport can ask for the vaccine certificate- the underlying proof. Pretty sure that's random, and I've only been asked for it once in 4 trips.

*Your airline may ask for a vax certificate. Separate but parallel issue...

Thanks Scudder that was helpful. I was worried I would need some certified vax card or something more official than my paper one the hospital filled out.

Do you know whether or not a Covid test from CVS or Walgreens or such would meet their requirements?

Thanks again for your help.

I’m not sure why you’d need a negative PCR. Unless things have changed since May, no test is required for vaccinated individuals. With regard to the Spanish Travel Health form, you can begin filling it out now, but most of it has to be done within the 72 hour window.

If you are vaccinated, you do not need a negative test.
I just went in May--vaccine card was uploaded to airline as part of check-in process to obtain boarding pass. I separately did the Spanish health form to obtain QR code. I showed QR code at airport, but they may have slacked off some on checking it based on other reports--regardless it is the requirement so I'd follow instructions.
I was in smaller towns, but I was generally impressed with mask wearing in close quarters (not concerned with outside). I did not use public transport. We ate dinners outside--we were a bit more careful because we still had the testing requirement to come home.

Thanks for clarifying--you said you were boosted, hence my confusion.

Getting a test hurts nobody and at least you’d know you’re negative prior to going over. A CVS or Walgreens test would suffice. Have a nice trip.
